Art
Karen has been painting since she was seven. It was while she was home schooled for a brief period of time, that she discovered her eye for colour and form.
She says, 'I am constantly surprised and pleased when I draw and paint. It is especially a privilege to paint portraits.'
Story
Karen has been writing since she was seventeen, when her parents moved to work in a desert hospital.
The winter holidays were long and very boring for a teenager who was used to the highly social environment of boarding school.
Music
Karen loves to sing anywhere anyone will let her!
She has been song-writing since she was seventeen. She hopes that her songs put emotions into words for those who have suffered.
About Karen
Karen is a 21st-century visionary, Church of England minister, artist, writer and singer/songwriter.
Karen has been speaking and singing in church's and at conferences in England, Ireland, Europe and the USA over the last twenty-five years.
She has worked with her husband in five Anglican Churches over twenty-two years and was ordained in 2006.
She presently works as Assistant Minister at St Michael's Church in NE Bristol where she oversees the healing, wholeness and worship ministries.
She is committed to encouraging and enabling people towards wholeness and purpose through faith in Jesus Christ. Her life has been touched by various adversities and blessings: growing up with the privilege, adventure, insecurity & confusion of being a third culture kid; contracting the incurable disease Myasthenia Gravis & then being healed through prayer in Jesus name; experiencing the loss of a child to stillbirth & subsequently suffering anxiety, which she has slowly recovered from. She says, 'Having wrestled with God, I tend to walk with a bit of a limp.'
Karen firmly believes that in all things God will work for the good of those who love Him and are called according to his purposes. She is passionate about enabling people to mine their treasures of darkness and spend them well. She offers artistic, written and musical resources to inspire and aid that process.
Karen runs a day course called The Wounded Healer Course, which she crafted while studying theology at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. She is available as a guest speaker for healing services, to lead training days on healing prayer & development of prophetic gifting, to speak at women’s breakfasts, weekends away and conferences.
